# Print an assignment

## Quick answer

Open the assignment and select the printer icon near the assignment tabs. Fiveable prepares the current draft, then opens your browser's print dialog. Choose a printer or Save as PDF there.

## What to do

1. **Open the assignment**: From [Assignments](/assignments), select the assignment you want to print.

2. **Check the current draft**: Open Edit and confirm the sections and order. The print version is prepared from the assignment as it is currently saved.

3. **Select the printer icon**: Find the Print assignment icon near the assignment tabs and select it.

4. **Finish in the browser**: In the system print dialog, choose the destination, paper size, scale, and page range. Choose Save as PDF when you need a file instead of paper.

## If something is not working

### The print dialog does not open.

Open the assignment in Chrome or Safari instead of an in-app browser, then select Print assignment again.

### The printout does not show my latest edit.

Return to Edit and wait for Saved, then open the print dialog again.
