# Manage a teacher subscription or payment method

## Quick answer

Open Account > Billing. Review Your subscription, renewal date, status, and account email. Use Replace payment method to open Stripe's secure portal, or use Cancel auto-renew when you want access to end after the current paid period.

## What to do

1. **Open Billing**: Open [Billing](/account?tab=billing) in Account.

2. **Check the subscription**: Review the plan name, status, renewal or access-until date, amount, and billing email. If you have more than one subscription, check each card separately.

3. **Replace the card when needed**: Select Replace payment method. Fiveable opens Stripe's secure portal; Fiveable only displays the saved card brand, last four digits, and expiration date.

4. **Change renewal when needed**: Select Cancel auto-renew to keep access through the current paid period without another renewal. Past-due subscriptions may show Cancel subscription instead.

5. **Return and verify**: After Stripe or the cancellation flow finishes, return to Billing and confirm the saved status.

## If something is not working

### Billing says No subscriptions found for your account.

Check Account info for the signed-in email. The subscription may belong to another Fiveable account or school order.

### Replace payment method did not return to Fiveable.

Finish or close the Stripe portal, reopen Billing, and confirm the saved card. Contact support if the portal reported success but Billing did not update.
