# Thurstone's Primary Mental Abilities — AP Psych Definition

## Definition

Thurstone's theory suggests that intelligence is composed of seven primary mental abilities: verbal comprehension, word fluency, number facility, spatial visualization, associative memory, perceptual speed, and reasoning. These abilities are independent of each other.
