# Kinesthetic Sense — AP Psychology Definition & Exam Guide

## Definition

The kinesthetic sense, also known as proprioception, is the body's ability to sense its own position, movement, and action. It involves the brain receiving information about muscle tension and body position from sensory organs in the muscles and joints.
