Timing
Need extra time? Choose the timing option that matches your approved accommodation.
Before you begin:
- Each section has its own timer that starts when you click “Begin Section.”
- Once you finish a section and move on, you cannot return to it.
- Within each section, you can move between questions freely.
- A pause button is available next to the timer — use it only if absolutely necessary. You will not be able to pause on exam day.
Note:This practice exam covers only the written portions of the AP Chinese exam: Reading multiple choice and the writing free-response tasks (Story Narration and Email Response). The listening multiple choice and the speaking tasks (Conversation and Cultural Presentation) are not included, since they can't be administered reliably in this format. You may write your responses in Simplified or Traditional characters.
