Thomas Edison was an American inventor and businessman who is best known for inventing the practical electric light bulb, phonograph, and motion picture camera. He held 1,093 patents for his inventions.
Patent: A government authority or license conferring a right or title for a set period to exclude others from making, using, or selling an invention.
Phonograph: An early sound-reproducing machine that used cylinders to record as well as reproduce sound.
Motion Picture Camera: A device used in filmmaking to capture moving images.
