DACA is an American immigration policy that allows some individuals brought to the country as children to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and become eligible for a work permit.
Dream Act: Proposed legislation in the U.S. that would provide conditional residency, and more permanently, citizenship to undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as minors.
Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986: This law granted amnesty to nearly 3 million illegal immigrants already in the country.
Executive Order: A directive issued by the President of the United States that manages operations of the federal government.
