Rubber is an elastic substance produced from latex tapped from certain trees. It's waterproof, insulates against electricity and absorbs shock which makes it useful for a variety of products.
Latex: A milky fluid found in many plants, such as poppies and spurges, that contains the precursors of rubber.
Vulcanization: A chemical process for converting natural rubber or related polymers into more durable materials via the addition of sulfur.
Rubber Industry: The sector of industry dealing with the production, processing and marketing of items made from rubber.
