Muhammad is the founder of Islam, considered by Muslims to be the last prophet sent by God to mankind. He was born in Mecca around 570 CE and received revelations from God through the angel Gabriel, which were later compiled into the Quran.
Prophet: A person regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God.
Quran: The holy book of Islam, believed to be the word of God as revealed to Muhammad.
Mecca: A city in Saudi Arabia that is the birthplace of Muhammad and the site of the Kaaba, making it the holiest city in Islam.
