"Romance de la pérdida de Alhama" is a traditional Spanish ballad that recounts the story of the fall of the city of Alhama to Christian forces during the Reconquista.
Reconquista: The period in Spanish history when Christian kingdoms fought to reconquer territories from Muslim rule.
Ballad: A narrative poem or song that tells a story, often with a musical quality.
Moorish Spain: Refers to the time when much of Spain was under Muslim rule, known as Al-Andalus.
