Terminal branches are the ends of axons that form junctions with other cells and transmit messages to those cells.
Synapse: This is the gap between two neurons where communication occurs. It's like the driveway or walkway leading up to each house where packages are delivered.
Neurotransmitters: These are chemical messengers that cross synapses from one neuron to another. They're like the actual packages being delivered by our driver.
Axon: This is a long, slender projection of a nerve cell that typically conducts electrical impulses away from the neuron's cell body. It’s akin to the road network our delivery driver uses to reach his destinations.
