Resolution refers to the movement from dissonance (tension) to consonance (rest) in music.
Consonance: Harmonies or intervals that sound stable and pleasant.
Dominant: The fifth scale degree of a major or minor key, which creates tension and leads to the tonic (first) scale degree.
Half Cadence: A musical phrase that ends on the dominant chord, creating a sense of temporary pause or incomplete resolution.
