Grace notes are small, quick notes that are played quickly before a main note. They add ornamentation and embellishment to the music.
Appoggiatura: A type of grace note where the small note is approached by a leap from a larger note.
Acciaccatura: A type of grace note where the small note is played very quickly right before the main note.
Turn: A type of ornamentation that includes a grace note followed by three other notes around the main note.
