Polyphony: Polyphony is a musical texture where multiple independent melodic lines are played or sung simultaneously. Counterpoint is one type of polyphonic writing.
Fugue: A fugue is a specific type of composition based on imitative counterpoint. It features an initial theme (subject) that appears in different voices throughout the piece.
Voice Leading: Voice leading refers to how individual melodic lines move from one note to another in a composition. It focuses on smooth and logical transitions between chords and intervals.
