An ascending thirds progression is a chord progression where each chord moves up by a major third.
Tonic Chord (I): The first scale degree in any major or minor key; it serves as the home base and point of resolution.
Subdominant Chord (IV): The chord built on the fourth scale degree of a key, often used to create a sense of stability and departure from the tonic.
Mediant Chord (III): The chord built on the third scale degree of a key, adding color and variety to harmonic progressions.
