This term refers to building towers and tortoises and climbing over ramparts using ladders.
Turres (towers): Tall structures built for defensive purposes, often used to gain a better vantage point.
Testudines (tortoises): These were protective shields that were used by soldiers to advance towards the enemy while being shielded from projectiles.
Scalae (ladders): Portable structures with rungs or steps used for climbing over walls or other obstacles.
