Definition

In Greek mythology, the river Styx is a boundary between the world of the living and the underworld. It is said to have magical powers and is often associated with oaths and promises.

Hercules (Alcides): Hercules, also known as Alcides, was a famous hero in Greek mythology who had to cross the river Styx during his twelve labors. He sought protection from its waters while fighting against powerful monsters.

Theseus: Theseus was another legendary hero who crossed the river Styx on his way to defeat the Minotaur in the labyrinth. The river served as a symbolic barrier he had to overcome in order to face his fears.

Charon: Charon is often depicted as the ferryman who transports souls across the river Styx into Hades. He requires payment for his services, usually in the form of coins placed on or near deceased individuals before their burial.
