Definition

Claims are statements or assertions that express a position or viewpoint on a particular topic. They are the main arguments made in an essay or speech.

Related terms

Evidence: Facts, examples, statistics, or expert opinions that support a claim.

Counterclaim: A claim that opposes or disagrees with the main claim.

Warrant: The reasoning or justification that connects the evidence to the claim.
