Definition

Material culture refers to the physical objects, resources, and spaces that people use to define their culture. These include homes, churches, schools, offices etc., as well as personal possessions like art and clothing.

Artifacts: Objects made by humans which give information about the culture of its creator and users.

Built Environment: Human-made surroundings that provide settings for human activity ranging from buildings and parks or green space to neighborhoods and cities that can often include their supporting infrastructure such as water supply or energy networks.

Cultural Landscape: A geographic area including both cultural and natural resources associated with a historic event, activity or person.
