A city that links smaller regions or countries into the world system, having less influence than Alpha or Beta cities but still playing an essential role in global networks.
Peripheral Region: Regions that are less developed than core regions; these areas usually provide raw materials, agricultural products, and cheap labor to more developed regions.
Semi-Periphery Countries: Countries that are industrializing and growing rapidly; they sit between core (developed) countries and periphery (less developed) ones in terms of wealth, development, and influence.
Megacity: An extremely large metropolitan area, typically with a population of over 10 million people.
