Core countries are dominant capitalist countries characterized by high levels of industrialization and urbanization. They control global trade and have strong, stable governments.
Periphery Countries: Less developed countries with less stable governments, lower income and less control over global trade.
Semi-periphery Countries: Countries that are midway between the core and periphery. They're not as influential as core countries but are more stable and developed than periphery countries.
Global North: A term used to refer to the world's wealthy, industrialized nations which are mostly located in the Northern Hemisphere.
