Food shortages refer to situations where the supply of food is insufficient to meet the demand, often leading to hunger and malnutrition.
Blockade: This is an act of sealing off a place to prevent goods or people from entering or leaving. It's like if a group of students blocked the cafeteria doors so no one could get in or out.
Rationing: This is when authorities distribute scarce resources, including food, on a restricted basis. It’s like if the cafeteria staff only allowed each student one slice of pizza because there wasn't enough for seconds.
Famine: This is extreme scarcity of food over a large area for prolonged period. If our school cafeteria scenario continued for weeks with no solution, it could lead to famine-like conditions among students.
