Dutch Revolt (Eighty Years War)

Definition

The Dutch Revolt, also known as the Eighty Years' War, was a revolt by seven provinces in what is now Netherlands against Spanish rule from 1568-1648. It resulted in independence for those provinces forming United Provinces or Dutch Republic.
