Organic molecules are compounds mainly composed of carbon atoms bonded with hydrogen atoms but can also include elements like nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus etc. They form the basis for life on earth due to their ability to create complex structures.
Macromolecules: These are large complex structures made up from smaller organic molecules. Like building a Lego castle using many individual Lego blocks.
Functional Groups: These are specific groups of atoms within molecules that are responsible for the characteristic chemical reactions of those molecules. They're like the special Lego pieces that have unique features, such as wheels or windows.
Polymers: These are large molecules made up from a series of repeated subunits (monomers). It's like connecting many identical Lego blocks together in a chain.
