A homozygous dominant genotype consists of two dominant alleles for a particular gene. The presence of at least one dominant allele results in the expression of the dominant trait.
Allele: An alternative form/version of a gene that can produce different effects on traits when present in homozygous or heterozygous state.
Dominant Trait: A trait that will appear in offspring if one parent contributes it; it masks recessive traits.
Homozygote: An organism which has two identical alleles for a trait.
