Homozygous Dominant Genotype

Definition

A homozygous dominant genotype consists of two dominant alleles for a particular gene. The presence of at least one dominant allele results in the expression of the dominant trait.

Allele: An alternative form/version of a gene that can produce different effects on traits when present in homozygous or heterozygous state.

Dominant Trait: A trait that will appear in offspring if one parent contributes it; it masks recessive traits.
