Endocrine signaling refers to the process where endocrine cells release hormones directly into the bloodstream. These hormones then travel to target cells located in different parts of the body.
Gland: An organ in an animal's body that synthesizes substances such as hormones for release into the bloodstream or into cavities inside the body or its outer surface.
Hormone: A chemical substance produced in the body that controls and regulates the activity of certain cells or organs.
Bloodstream: The blood circulating through the heart, arteries, capillaries, and veins which is responsible for carrying nutrients and oxygen to all parts of our bodies.
