In this session students will learn about Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, particularly how it relates to personality. We will work on identifying the id, ego, and superego and discuss how they influence each other. Students will also focus on the different types of defense mechanisms employed by the ego. Finally, the lesson will conclude with a discussion on Neo Freudian psychologists like Jung, Horney, and Adler and learn how their approaches relate to and differ from Freud’s original theory.
